SUPER EASY HALLOWEEN CUPCAKES via @KitchenKelli

Super Easy Halloween Cupcakes from Kelli's Kitchen

I made a bunch of cupcakes today and given that it is Halloween, I wanted to make them festive without spending all day in the kitchen. I used a cake mix and canned icing with a few extras and I think they came out pretty well! The first one – show at the top of this post – I saw somewhere on the Internet but for the life of me, I can’t remember where. The only thing I am sure of was that the one I saw was done much more perfectly. Mine looks less professional but that doesn’t bother me one bit! This is all you do.

Make the cupcakes either with your own recipe or from a box. If you want lavender icing like me (why? Because the clouds around the moon are lavender of course!) then put equal amounts of red and blue food coloring in a bowl.

Mix it together.

Add the vanilla icing.

Wallah! Lavender icing.

For the next part you will need Oreo Caksters, they are the big soft Oreos, and a small cookie cutter or measuring cup (mine was 1/8 Cup), or a small glass.

Eyeball the cookie, moving the cutter around until it looks like a crescent moon.

Ice the cupcake and put the “moon” on top securing in the back with a toothpick. I put orange sprinkles around it because everyone knows that clouds are not only lavender, they have orange glitter in them!

Then, I made a bone yard:

And finally, a “bloody” cupcake:

I hope you enjoyed seeing these as much as I enjoyed making them. Kids could certainly help you or even do it themselves. If you have a last minute party that you have to make something for, run to the store for cake mix and icing and then over to Michael’s for some candy butcher knives and red decorator’s gel – you are set!

I really love the crescent moon cupcake! That is such a creative way to decorate. I love that it’s totally edible and can be spooky or romantic (I have Stevie Nicks videos running through my head LOL) depending on your imagination.
