Fireworks

This is somewhat different than one of my regular posts but so many great things have happened this week that I am bursting at the seams and want to share it with you! Last Sunday night at about 8:00PM I post an upcycle job Mr. Picky Eater and I did on some of his leftover coffee containers. If you click back one post, you can see it. I got ready for bed as usual and went. When I got up the next morning at 4:00AM, I checked my email on Hometalk and saw that it had been shared 4,000 times! I nearly fainted right then and there. I have never had anything I’ve ever done shared and pinned THAT MUCH, much less in just a few hours. Excitedly, off I went to work, where I can’t check anything on the Internet personal. I had to wait till I got home and by that time that little post had just gone flat out crazy! CRAZY I TELL YOU!!! It was all over the Internet on Face Book pages, Hometalk, Pinterest, Reddit and some places I have never even heard of! I had hundreds and hundreds of email notifications and comments!

Coffee Can

In complete shock, Mr. Picky Eater and I began reading every single one together. One was from a lovely lady at Hometalk who asked if I would like to curate a Hometalk clipboard called Plastic Container Projects – and of course I said yes! They kindly offered to have one of their graphic artists to make a lovely header for me and told me I could post as many of my own that we wanted. Well, we only had one. But now we have so many more in the works! Recycling is very important to me and I think MPE and I have come up with some stellar ideas which I will share with you very soon. Meantime, please go over and take a look at this clip board and tell me what you think of the clipped projects over there:

THEN – I read a post from Gail at My Repurposed Life, who posted about a contest at Krylon’s Spray Paint for a chance to win $500 weekly prizes and a $2,000 Grand Prize for posting projects made with Krylon spray paint – which those little canisters were made from – so I ran over and posted. Tuesday afternoon, Mo from Krylon’s marketing company emailed us and said we had won Week 2’s weekly prize of $500 for all our wonderful paint projects! I emailed Gail to thank her and she asked me to do a guest post on her blog today showcasing some of those projects! It is up and going – please go over and give me some support over there! She’s a wonderful blogger with a huge following and I want my little blog to represent! Click on the banner and it should take you right over. Thanks!

THEN – the shares, pins, and clips on my coffee container post kept going and going. Meantime, my new blogger friend Heather from Oklahoma Women Bloggers asked me if I would like to go to a blogger event last night at OKC’s Penn Square Mall showcasing See’s Candies which was having a grand opening today! Look at the swag bag I got there!

I’m going to do an entire post on THAT this weekend! After agreeing to go, Mari from OWB asked me if I would like to be Miss August. I am going to be the featured blogger for the month of August! FEATURED BLOGGER FOR THE ENTIRE MONTH!!! Can you believe it?!?! I can’t. Look to the right to see the state of Oklahoma icon. If you click on that, it will take you over there – I WILL ask you to go over and read my 4 featured posts next month and I really appreciate your support. I’ll mostly be blogging posts about life in Oklahoma so I hope you like those.

THEN – In between ALL that, we have been getting ready for the Ruffles and Rust Expo which is tomorrow in Chickasha! Crossing our fingers that our very first booth at an upscale show goes well – we have put so much work in on these projects and I can only hope it shows. There are some professional people going down there so we will be a lot like the Country Mouse going to town – we may look kind of raggedy compared to them…………I’m very nervous!

THEN – because of all the good things happening and even though I have never won a single dollar, I bought a Powerball ticket, yep just one, for Wednesday night. Guess what? I won $4!!! I’m feeling pretty darn luck these days!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I checked this morning and our little coffee containers (that will be for sale at the show) have been shared and pinned and clipped over 20,000 times!! I can barely catch my breath – but I better get with it ‘cause we’ve got a show tomorrow!

Right now, as I type this – Top Girl is interviewing for a HUGE promotion so please think good thoughts for her. If she gets the job, she will in the same position as me in a different division – I am so proud of her! She will have accomplished what I did in about ½ the time!

And now, for the BIGGEST NEWS of ALL: Next week I will be posting a great interview with someone many of you know and she is going to share a HUGE secret with you and will benefit YOU and me! I’m so excited about this I hardly keep from telling you!!!

I’ve got to go get ready for the show tomorrow! Talk with you soon!!

I’m visiting from Gail’s blog (which I love by the way). I love all your ideas especially the desk turned into nightstands that your hubby did. I have been looking for a desk to use the same way. I inherited a bed that once belonged to my great grandmother and nightstands aren’t the right height. You have inspired me to paint all my Folger’s containers instead of just taping paper labels on them (classy, right?)

Thank you Sylvia – for the compliments and for dropping by! I think that paint will make a world of difference on your coffee containers and please do make those nightstands! Ours will be up for sale tomorrow so we will be searching for a new desk to demolish next weekend! Please come back anytime!

So exciting- you deserve to be famous! Your coffee can project is SO clever and cute it needs to be pinned/shared/repinned a million times! (You should make a deal with Folgers, as their sales spike because of you.)
Country mouse takes over the town! (I can appreciate that remark as I am becoming more and more of a country mouse myself.)
And I can’t wait for your big secret…
