Do any of you have allergies? Boy I do and when the weather gets more sunny and warmer it’s beautiful —– but there is always the risk of an allergy attack – that’s why I take allergy medicine nearly every single day of the year. The only days I don’t is when it is below freezing. Those days are few and far between in these parts, Pilgrim! I have a tough enough time during the spring just making sure I keep my airways open but when someone does something well-intentioned yet detrimental to others it can nearly put me out of commission!
There is a lovely woman at work who received a HUGE arrangement of some kind of lilies for Mother’s Day from her son who is a missionary worker in China or near there. She thought she would share her beautiful flowers by bringing them to work yesterday leaving them in the employee break room. It was late yesterday afternoon when the air conditioner brought the first pollen to my desk – but I thought she would take them home at the end of the day. OH NO! This morning when I arrived, pollen had been distributed into every nook and cranny of the entire office through the air conditioning system last night. The pollen was such a problem that it was the second time in the last quarter we’ve had to call in technicians from https://vipductcleaning.com/air-duct-cleaning-austin
After about an hour of inhaling the stinky pollen, I had the biggest coughing/hacking/gagging fit I’ve had in a long time. There was an hour and a half meeting near said break room where my voice slowly deteriorated and my head pounded. As soon as it was over, I went out with a friend for lunch where I regained my voice a bit and my nasal passages stopped feeling like there were torches flying up my nose each time I took a breath…………until I came back. Things were going downhill until finally, fearful this would turn into bronchitis just in time for the wedding, I took sick leave so I could get the heck out of there!
Nice story, KK but why did you drag us through THAT and WHY are we the lucky ones – you say? Well, my friends – YOU are the lucky ones because the first few paragraphs explain exactly why I don’t have a recipe to be posted today and YOU are lucky because that means I will NOT be linking up to any parties with said post – making the number of potential competitors for the cool bake ware set SO. MUCH. SMALLER!
Are you feeling lucky yet?!?!
This Goldtouch 6 piece bake ware set includes: Two round 9-inch cake pans, One 12-cup muffin pan, One 1/2 Sheet baking pan, One cookie sheet and One cooling rack. I’m telling you this Goldtouch non-stick bake ware is the greatest stuff you’ve ever seen! As I told you last night the entire set (which is heavy!) cost about $100 and was paid for by me.
What do you have to do? Just comment on this post and tell me why you need new bake ware. It’s not going to help you win – that will be completely random – but I thought it would be fun to read your stories of sad baking pans that need so badly to be replaced. And who knows? Maybe someone from Williams-Sonoma (where I purchased most of the giveaways) will read this post and offer to give out an extra set to the most pitiful sounding response! Yeah, that’s a pipe dream, right?
Anyway, I’ve rambled on long enough and while I love talking to you – three hours away from the offending pollen really isn’t enough – my head still hurts!
The contest ends next Monday, May 20 2013 @ 6:00 PM CDT so you have from now till then to win yourself a new set of absolutely fantastic pans so you can throw those old ones out! Good luck!!
New recipes with my new kitchen gadgets begin next week! Watch out people, I have a KitchAid and I am NOT afraid to use it!
Amy Greenberg
I would love some new bakeware. I just moved and realized how junky some of my stuff has become over the years! I do have my mom’s original bundt pans and wouldn’t give those up since they are awesome as well as sentimental, but the rest of it…yuck!
kalamitykelli
I have my grandmother’s original bundt pan as well! It’s smaller which I like but sometimes I forget and that cake batter goes all over the oven – even set the oven on fire sometimes…………Ha! Thanks for dropping by and please come again!
kesha
I need new bakeware because all of mine is cheap and rusted from using for years
kalamitykelli
I understand. Once I got this really nice and incredible piece of heavy bake ware at a yard sale (she had “too many”) I honestly could not believe the difference a nice piece made in cooking! You can actually follow the instructions on the package and not burn something. I was sold after that! Good luck!
Eartha Kitsch
My pans look like a bunch of puppies scrambled around in them. Saaaaaad. Those new pans are fancy nice! earthakitsch(at)gmail(dot)com
kalamitykelli
I know what you mean Eartha – I’ve had ones like that myself and boy, nice heavy new pans sure do make a difference!
pamasaurus
Oh no! Thankfully, I don’t react to pollen and such like that. My sinuses do act up when the weather changes drastically, or when I visit a place at a higher elevation. I’m sick every time I visit my mom in central pa. I guess that’s what I get for living at sea level!
As you know, I really really want to win these, haha. You’re so sweet to purchase all these giveaways!
I need new bakeware because mine is cheap and gross. They look like the ‘before’ photos on all those pinterest tutorials for cleaning bakeware. It would be nice to photograph some cupcakes for my blog without being embarrassed to show the whole interwebs what my bakeware looks like!
Plus, my husband is cheapy mccheaperson and won’t let me buy nice cookware. He’ll let me replace mine when they get really bad, but he’ll get me the cheapest ones from walmart. They’re always regular metal, not nonstick.
A food blogger needs nice cookware! Maybe it would inspire me to post more often?
kalamitykelli
I was rolling in the floor reading about Mr. Cheapy McCheaperson! He should be a character on your blog! When I told Mr. Picky Eater he laughed and said, “Oh he’s still young – he needs to just give up now”. 🙂 Good luck my friend!
pamasaurus
He just laughed when I told him that Mr. PE said to give up now. He says he’ll never surrender!
I’ll start referring to him as Mr. McCheaperson sometimes 😉
Thanks!
mary
Thank you for the chance to win such lovely bakeware. I would love to pull these out of the oven in front of my guests !
kalamitykelli
Wow! You sound like you could be on a television commercial! I never am organized enough to pull anything out of the oven in front of guests – mostly because I’m afraid it might look like a total disaster when I do! Thanks for dropping by and good luck!!
Michelle Darensbourg
I could really use this new bakeware. Why? Because I have a Williams Sonoma addiction, lol. Seriously I love their store and could spend hours and hours dreaming up my ideal kitchen….and this looks like ideal bakeware!
kalamitykelli
Me too Michelle – I have the same addiction! Whenever I get one of those emails or a catalog comes in the mail……….I’m hopelessly hooked on whatever it is they are selling!
Michelle Darensbourg
Glad to know it is not just me, lol! I get emails from them and I will click on the links to look and then in a few days they send me a ‘thank you’ email for looking at certain items. Which of course makes me start thinking about said item all over again!
kalamitykelli
Have they started sending you special price items related to things you’ve already purchased? OMG! Those prices are too good to be true and I can NEVER resist – then of course I get another special priced item and so on and so on……:)
Michelle Darensbourg
I haven’t been fortunate to purchase from them yet….still just been dreaming…but now I have something to look forward to when I can purchase!
kalamitykelli
I love your blog! You just got a new follower!!
Michelle Darensbourg
Thanks 🙂 I haven’t been active in awhile but am close to starting it up again. You just gave me some incentive.
kalamitykelli
That happened to me you know – It took me a full year to get comfy with writing something as often as a blog takes – but now I’ve made great new friends and I really like it. I’m not very disciplined so my daughter had to keep after me for a while! 🙂
Alicia
Hi there long lost friend! You are so generous! So why do I need new bakeware? Well, I have never been much of a baker, so our baking pans, cookie sheets, etc have become quite dingy over the years. I recently had to cut WAY down on my fat intake for medical reasons, and I have taken up baking mostly because I can’t eat store bought baked goods or bakery delights ever again. I have been experimenting with lots of low fat and fat free baking recipes and using all sorts of fat substitutes. Anyway, my new hobby has been fun, and new bakeware would help a lot.
Hope you are doing well!
kalamitykelli
So nice to hear from you! I’ve so missed your posts but I suspect your health and the fact that it was winter forever that kept you from making any concoctions! I look forward to some coming up. Good Luck!!
Lauren Garrett
OMG! I totally feel your pain! Last week my boss’ wife brought in a ton of lily bouquets from their sons prom picture party and I thought I was going to DIE! Maybe it will all be better tomorrow! Anyways, I need new bakeware because I have a million pots and pans but almost nothing to bake in! I have always been so intimidated by baking but in the past few months I am warming up to the idea! I would love to have a set to try some new recipes in. Thank you so much!
kalamitykelli
Isn’t it the worst? And the worker I’m speaking of is the bosses favorite employee so saying anything was completely OUT of the question! Thanks for dropping by and please come again soon. Good luck!
griffinsgrub
So sorry to hear about your allergies. If it makes you feel any better, I had to mow the lawn yesterday and came down with a runny nose and a splitting headache afterwards. Mrs. G took over kitchen duties last night.
I seriously need new bakeware. Any kind of bakeware. I don’t have much, but what I do have it old hand me downs from my Mom and Grandma when it got to old and beat up for them and they upgraded giving me their cast-a-ways.
kalamitykelli
These are the greatest pieces I have ever worked with. If you win them – you will love ’em too! Good luck!
Jamie
All of my baking pans are the cheap ones from Walmart that I bought when I was a broke college kid. They’re all rusty & I won’t use them unless I put down foil or parchment paper. They definitely need to be replaced!
kalamitykelli
I totally understand that – you won’t believe how big a difference it makes! Thanks for dropping by and please come again – Good luck!
Deanne
Pick me, pick me! All of the groady bakeware I have now started life as cheap, and have been tortured by being used in non-appropriate ways by many teenaged boys, For example, scraping burnt pizza or nacho cheese off baking pans with metal spatulas!
kalamitykelli
Oh dear! Death of a pan is the scraping! Good luck!!
eliotthecat
I was once told that Oklahoma is the worst for allergy sufferers because we have so many lakes (that aren’t geographically natural to the state). I don’t know if that is true or not, but I do know that I watch the pollen and tree spore count on the news daily! 🙂 Get to feeling better soon!
kalamitykelli
I’m sure that’s true! When I lived over on the East side of the state it was the Ragweed that killed me – over here it’s mostly cedar but I’m still sneezing 3 days later!! Thank you
holly
Burned mine up learning to cook!
kalamitykelli
Hahaha! That sounds just like me Holly! Thank you for dropping by and please come again!
nabby45
I really need some new bakeware. Mine is so old & rusted!!!
kalamitykelli
You know, I would be surprised if these rust – isn’t that great? I just love ’em and I know you would too. Good luck!
Christy Stephenson
Hi. Oh how I would love to win this bake ware! We just moved from West Virginia to central florida. As I’m unpacking boxes I’ve noticed all my kitchen stuff looks so dingy and sorry. This set would look wonderful in my new oven in my new kitchen. We live closer to a williams sonoma store but I haven’t been there yet. I know once I go it’s going to become a very bad habit 🙂
kalamitykelli
Wow – you are going to get used to lots of humidity in central Florida! That’s quite a move for you! Thank you for dropping by and please come again – Good luck!
meganooregano
I’d love to win these because all of my bakeware is gunky and gross. And maybe it would inspire me to be more creative with my baking!!
Sherryl Hamilton
I’m 56 and never had new pans since the first set I bought in my 20s. A few years ago I got on the internet and started baking breads cakes and sweets for the grandkids.my daughter bought me a couple pans but when you’re cooking for a crowd you need more then two pans. I’m moving to be with my oldest daughter and her kids. I am disabled and take a lot of pills. The only entertaining things for me to do are cooking baking and crafts.I like baking because I love to see the smiles on the kids faces when they eat.with being disabled I’m on a fixed income and can’t afford to buy new bakeware. I hope I’m picked so I can continue cooking for my granddaughters.
Thank you sherryl hamilton.

Kate @ Another Clean Slate
That lady is nicer than me because I would definitely not bring my flowers to work- unless i was trying to make someone else jealous;)
pamela correa
Well, I’ve never seen these pans before but they look beautiful. There is just something special when you cook with a matching set, makes me want to bake more. The old pans are good enough. New pans, that would be more than just enough!
Donna Currie
Oooh! Purty bakeware! I actually have enough, so I’m not entering, but I posted this over on my FB page.
Awful about the allergies. The worst yet for me was when someone decided that a meeting agenda should be sprayed with perfume. Half the people in the room were gagging and said, “please don’t ever do that again.”
kalamitykelli
Thank you for posting! Yes, the only time I didn’t have allergies was when I lived in Colorado – but then my nails and hair didn’t grow very fast there….
pennyb
I would love to have new bakeware and so would my daughter because she will have her pick of the old stuff. Happy days!!
now at home mom
oh! no! sorry to hear about your allergies Kelli and that you had to call sick because of it 🙁 You are a very sweet lady Kelli to have these fun and amazing giveaways! 🙂
tara pittman
my cookie sheets are worn from a lot of use.
Butter And Sprinkles
I actually would love to win this for my sister-in-law. She’s the one that sparked my love for baking a few years ago (a love strong enough for me to enter culinary school!) and all of her pans are in *rough* shape. Most of her pans are hand-me-downs and flea market finds, and not the good kind. They’re dented, scraped, and scratched. She’s been having a rough time medically lately and has had to have two surgeries for a herniated disc, so I’m betting this would be a lovely surprise!
Robin Wilson
I need new bakeware because about 95% of mine is made with that old teflon coating that is now chipped, scratched and possible unsafe to use! I simply cannot afford to replace so thank you for the giveaway! My son and his girlfriend bake for me every weekend. Last night they made raspberry cupcakes with white chocolate buttercream. Yummy!
Lorelei
I have had most of my bake ware since I was married, 47 years ago. Needless to say, it has seen better days.
Laurie
I’m sorry to hear about your awful allergies — they are a misery for so many. We haven’t had much of a Spring around here so I haven’t suffered as much as usual but it is coming, I know it is. I have had the same bakeware for my entire marriage — going on 24 years. So I do think it’s time for something new! Thank you for chance to win!
kalamitykelli
Hi Laurie! Thanks for dropping by and do make sure to come back again tomorrow evening to see who the winner is!!
Anne
All of my pans are hand-me-downs, so they’ve been well loved (i.e. beaten to death!). And now that I have toddlers running around, they’ve decided that many of my pans make good toys. Eek! Not sure how much longer they’ll last!!
Tina W
I would love to win new bakeware. Mine is so-so but can be passed down to my nephew.
And don’t get me started about how miserable allergy season is here is Southern California. As soon as the pollen ended we started having wildfires. Cough cough, wheeze wheeze.
Natalie Vandenberghe
oh, here’s my pitiful story: I just now got here (after seeing Cookistry post about this on her FB page)–imagine my disappointment when I realized I’m a couple hours too late to enter! oh, well, glad I found you anyway!
kalamitykelli
I had to postpone the drawing until tonight so you will be included – congrats and good luck!
