Candy Corn Cob Pinterest Fail from Kelli's Kitchen

Remember when I posted about the Bunny Rolls that weren’t really rolls at all? This is another one of those posts. My cousin Debbie posted a picture on my personal FB page of this corn cob made from candy corn and a banana……………or so it said on the picture. I thought it was easy enough to put in my “Easy Halloween Treats” post for later this week and bought the candy corn and bananas. I tried it but thought I just wasn’t skillful enough to get it done. When Top Girl came in, I asked her to do it. This is the result:

Candy Corn Cob Pinterest Fail from Kelli's Kitchen

Go ahead, laugh – I think it’s hilarious!

HUGE Pinterest Fail, don’t you think?

Then I went on line to Pinterest in search of directions on how to make those little candies stick into a mushy banana. Imagine my (non) surprise when I could not click on any picture – they were all the same picture and some had writing on them and some didn’t – that took me to a website. That is except one and it was WAY down the page. One lone post that showed exactly how to make it work and it is NOT simple, easy, or quick.
So, while it did not make it on the list of my next post, I couldn’t resist showing you my fail or sharing the real post in case any of you have some time and want to make one. Cool isn’t it?

82: Candy Corn on the Cob

***Hepworth from the blog above, was kind enough to respond to my comment and he sent me the link to the original instructable that the picture all over Pinterest is from – here it is and it’s cookie dough!****

I’ve given up on ever making any type of food that is cute. I’ve had a “fail” every single time! πŸ™‚

Like you, I love featuring fails on my blog because it shows that we’re all human and can’t be picture perfect. Who knows if some of the stuff we see on Pinterest is even real and not just computer generated to make us feel inadequate? This is hilarious, thanks for sharing.

candy corn and a banana? Doesn’t seem like the flavors would balance anyway… Love that you tried it though πŸ™‚ A sense of humor is a good thing to have.

Hoping you saw my candy corn vodka from a post a few weeks back. Seems candy corn is trending πŸ˜‰ http://wp.me/p2dvv9-1bj

I think it’s more about the look of corn on the cob than about the flavors – but that’s just my perception. Yes, I DID see that post and I pinned it to my potent potables board! πŸ™‚

Hey, thanks! Hadn’t realized you had done that. I may be the only one in the universe that doesn’t spend time in Pinterest. I have boards, but haven’t added for awhile. Can’re seem to find the time.

Pinterest fails; yep, I’ve had a few of those, never thought of posting about them because I was not happy with my fails but you know we all make mistakes and it happens all the time! but I’m glad you posted about it Kelli, I just visited the blog and I’m impressed with how he did it (clever) πŸ™‚ & I also read your comments on his page, so I decided to pin it too and tweet it, so people can have the good link to his site in case they ever want to try it! πŸ™‚
at least now we know it’s not made with a banana πŸ˜‰
