Hatch Green Chile Round-up

Hi all! I’m back (at least for today) and grateful for all your kind comments. Thank you. I have been planning this round-up for a few weeks now and was going to post it Friday but of course I couldn’t. On a happier note: It’s Hatch Chile Season! Yay! I love Hatch Chile peppers and have become somewhat a pro at roasting, peeling, deveining, and canning the beautiful green veggie. I am always thrilled to find so many wonderful recipes using the pepper that comes alive for just a few weeks each year and this year, I just found so many I had to share them with you. Below you will find 15 wonderful recipes – a few of which are mine – which you too will want to prepare. Just click on the link below the picture to be taken to each individual blog post that these wonderful people agreed to share with me. Don’t those pictures look appetizing? Yum yum!

Some times I can get Hatch green chiles really cheap here at Reasors. The last time I roasted any we still had the gas grill so thanks for giving me the charcoal tutorial! And the recipes….thank you!!!!!

    Kelli,
I’m so delighted with your timing–I’ve got more than a quart of freshly roasted Hatch chiles from my local grocery store (here in Ohio!) and I’m on this. Thanks for including my links!

What a great round up! When I was in Houston recently, my mom called to say they were roasting hatch chilies at Central Market and she wanted to jump in the car and go. I knew I would just have to put them in the freezer and leave them behind so I declined. Now I really wish I had taken the chance to go get some and try to haul them back to Dubai.

They are so cheap and big that everyone around here is willing to roast their own but I’m told that Whole Foods roasts for you – if the only one we have wasn’t 35 miles away! ๐Ÿ™‚

What a great round up!! Thanks for including me in it. I feel honored. Just wish I would have gotten my latest post, Hatch Chile Lime Wings done in time. We feasted on Hatch Chile Pork Stew last night and it was amazing as well. Why have I waited all these years to start cooking with Hatch?
