Southern Baked Beans
First, there are some important things to remember: drain your cans of pork and beans before you put into the 9 x 9 dish.

cans of Pork and Beans
drained

strips of Bacon
raw and cut in half -- or 1 pound breakfast Sausage, fried crisp

medium onion
chopped finely

Tablespoons
brown sugar

Tablespoons
Ketchup

Tablespoons
yellow mustard

Pour drained Pork and Beans into a 9 x 9 dish

sprinkled onions, brown sugar, ketchup and mustard on top like this:

Now, add the bacon or crumbled sausage on top

Then mix it up really well.

Preheat oven to 350F

Cover dish with foil and cook for an hour then uncover and bake for another 15 minutes.

Let stand for about 30 minutes and serve! These are yummy either way!
